TUPPER LAKE- Marie E. Godin, 89, of Tupper Lake, passed away, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Mercy Living Center. Born October 6, 1923 in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Leslie C. and Evelyn (Baril) King. Marie was a graduated of Holy Ghost Academy. From 1943 - 1945 she was employed by General Electric in Schenectady. On November 25, 1946 she married Hubert Godin at St. Alphonus church and made their home in Tupper Lake. They enjoyed weekend trips, searching out flea markets, antique stores and garage sales to find treasures and collectables which gave them great joy. Marie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, was an avid reader and loved traveling the Northeast, making trips to family in New Brunswick with her late husband. She is survived by one daughter Suzanne Sherwood and her husband Brian, one son William and his wife Nanette, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was pre-deceased by her husband, one son Paul in 2008, two sisters; Louise Poulin and Annette McGinn and one brother Leslie C. King Jr. Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday, September 22 from 4 to 7 pm at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
